Our topic at the moment is ' Memoir Writing '.... We are taking a moment in time and sharing our experience with the reader.
MEMOIRS
- A Memoir is about something important that happened to the writer.
- The author doesn't tell you how they feel, but shows you through actions and conversations.
When writing remember:
- Hook the reader in with an engaging beginning
- Dialogue is used to show something about the people involved
- Language is selected with care- specific nouns, strong verbs. etc...
- Background information is woven in the memoir eg who, what, where, when
- The writer will show the significance of the event
- The reader knows what the writer thinks
- There is a satisfying closure
